Fr. Thomas F. Cawley
Spent 31 years as Mission Procurator in Asia, living in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Sent to Rome in 1988 and became the order’s Econome General. Transferred in 1993 to to Kansas City KS. In 2004 a man recognized Cawley in KS and came forward with an allegation that the priest molested him in 1979 when he was a 10-year-old altar boy. He said the abuse continued for two years. Cawley was placed on leave and the Order began an investigation. The man filed a civil suit in 8/2005 in St. Louis, the home of the Order. Cawley was assigned in 2004 as senior priest in residence at Vincentian Parish Mission Center in Independence MO. He died 10/28/2013.
