Permanently removed from ministry in 10/18. Name included on the archdiocese’s list 11/30/18. Per the list updated 3/1/19, Cleary had multiple allegations against him. The NE A.G.’s report in 11/21 notes five victims, all altar boys, ages 8-16, abused in the 1970s and 1980s. All five reported their abuse to the diocese in 2018. Cleary stated that the abuse “likely” occurred. No prosecution due to the statute of limitations. Laicized in 2019.
