Fr. George H. Clements
Pastor of Holy Angels in Bronzeville 1969-91. Assigned to the Diocese of Naussau, Bahamas 1991-93, then Washington DC 1993-2006. Retired in 2006. Clements admitted to a reporter in 1994 that he had been the subject of rumors of sexual misconduct. In 8/19 he was suspended from ministry pending the investigation of an allegation that he sexually abused a child, ages 7-12, 1974-1979. Clements died in 11/19. The alleged victim received a settlement from the archdiocese in 2/22. Another man who accused Clements of sexually abusing him as a boy received a settlement, as announced in 4/22 by Attorney Mitchell Garabedian.
