Fr. Jules Convert

Ordained in France. Worked in AK 1942-78. Returned to France in 1979. Multiple allegations, spanning most of the length of his career. Died 7/28/95. In 2003 8 men filed suit alleging abuse from 1955 to about 1977. Most settled claims against order but claims against diocese pending in 2003. Two settled completely and other plaintiffs joined the case. Total of 16-18 plaintiffs made accusations. AK Supreme Court ruled 8/06 that case could proceed. Claims included in 11/07 settlement with Jesuits. Another 19 claims settled 3/11 as part of Jesuit settlement. On Jesuit West Province list 12/7/18. On its list updated in 2/22 the Fairbanks diocese shows 38 reports of abuse by Convert.
