Fr. Andre Anthony Corbin
Criminally charged in 1988 with abusing a boy in 1966 when parish was in Raleigh diocese. Sentenced to 3 years jail; served about 60 days. Probation for 5 years, ordered to St Luke Institute for treatment. Dressed young boys in loin cloths to depict crucified Christ. Charlotte diocese removed faculties in 1988. Also named in 12/03 suit in Springfield MA; settled 8/04. Died in fire 5/14/08, age 79. On the Raleigh diocese’s list in 10/18; it notes report in 1988 of 1966 abuse. However, was put on sick leave 1962-64 after one year at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Newton Grove NC and missions. Rest of NC assignments were in future Charlotte diocese. On leave 1970-93; whereabouts unknown. In 2002, the Springfield MA diocese had been planning to assign Corbin as a supply priest, when the allegation was received that became the 12/03 suit. Died in 2008. On the Fall River MA diocese’ list in 1/21. On Springfield MA list 6/2/21.
