Fr. John Crozier

Parish priest in Lewiston, Peaks Island, Orono and Portland. Held numerous chancery positions, including Boy Scouts chaplain. After retiring in the early 1980s, per his obituary, Crozier worked for a few years in the missions of the Virgin Islands. Documents released by the Maine AG’s office in 2005 show that Crozier was accused of sexually abusing three brothers and one of their sisters in the 1960s and 1970s. They reported the alleged abuse to the Diocese in the 1990s. Crozier was known to have major problems with alcohol. He was not assigned in the Diocese after 1983 and died 12/30/1989.
