Fr. Charles Dekeukelaere
Also known as Irenee Charles De Keukelaere or DeKeukelaere. From Belgium. Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes in the Avoyelles Parish community of Fifth Ward 1955-1982. Removed in 1982, pleaded guilty to indecent behavior with a 14-year-old boy in the church rectory. Placed on probation and fined $1,000. Transferred to the East Coast. The Official Catholic Directories show Dekeukelaere at Church of the Nativity in Arlington VA in 1983, St. Charles Borromeo in Philadelphia in 1984-1987, no listing for 1987-1988, then at the order’s retreat center, Missionhurst, in Arlington VA 1988-1992. He died 3/3/1992. Named publicly as accused by the Alexandria diocese on its list 2/6/2019 (last name spelled Dekeukelare).
