Fr. Angelo J. Ditta
Accused in 1997 of repeatedly molesting a young boy years earlier. The boy and his therapist met with Rev. Alan Placa, who was the diocese’s vice chancellor, and described abuse beginning at age 9. Ditta was sent for therapy, then assigned to parish work without notification of his past. No reports were made to police until 2002. Ditta was removed from his parish assignment in 2002. Named in a 2003 civil suit. Identified as Priest H in the 2003 Suffolk Co Grand Jury Report. Included on the diocese’s list in 3/21.
