Fr. Thomas D. Donnelly
Absent without permission since 1981. Accused in 5/2000 of repeated sexual assaults of a girl, ages 6-11 in 1974-1979. Abuse is alleged at two Boston parishes and during trips to NH that included other girls. He denied the allegation. A 5/31/2001 memo indicated that the Archdiocese deemed it credible. Named by a woman in a lawsuit filed in 2/2002. Personnel filed released 12/2002. Per the 8/2011 Boston archdiocese’s list, either the Review Board found the accusations unsubstantiated or he was acquitted by a canonical process. Restricted. Status remains the same in 8/2022 and 5/2024.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
