Fr. Michael L. Doucette
Accused of abusing a boy over several years in the early 1980s. He was removed from his parish in 2002. Doucette’s accuser said he told Bishop Gerry in 1991 about the abuse. Doucette admitted to “several physical encounters” with a 15-year-old parishioner. Out-of-court settlement in 1992. Several known victims. Vatican’s approval of archdiocese’s decision to permanently remove him from active priesthood announced in 8/09. Victim sued for payment of counseling bill. Denied by judge in 12/19.
