Fr. Tom Eichenberger

Diocese: Archdiocese of Milwaukee WI

Pastor St. Francis Borgia, Cedarburg when placed on leave 9/4/15 during an investigation of alleged sexual abuse of a 7th-grade boy in 1977, when assigned to Holy Assumption in West Allis. Eichenberger denied the allegations. Claim had been filed as part of the archdiocese’s 2011 bankruptcy; Archbishop Listecki stated the priest was not identified until recently. Report made to DA, but no prosecution due to the statute of limitations. Listecki announced 11/15/15 that the Review Board found the accusations “unsubstantiated” and Eichenberger would return to ministry.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
