Fr. Thomas J. Engbers
Resigned from his parish in 4/2002 citing health reasons. The Archdiocese confirmed in 6/2002 that Engbers’ resignation was because of a complaint in his file of child sexual abuse 22 years prior. Notes in the file showed the boy’s name and a reference to Engbert’s treatment for a foot fetish. The alleged victim said that his father reported the abuse to church authorities at the time but nothing was done; he came forward again in Spring 2002.
