Fr. John L. Farrand
Named publicly as credibly accused by the Jesuits Northeast Province on its list 1/15/2019. An allegation of the sexual abuse of a minor in 1961 was reported in 1961. Farrand admitted to the abuse. He reportedly was teaching at Canisius High School in Buffalo when the abuse occurred. Prior to that assignment he worked at Regis High School in NYC 1957-1961. As a scholastic (seminarian) Farrand taught at Canisius High School 1946-1949, and at St. Peter’s Prep in Jersey City NJ 1949-1950. After the allegation in 1961, Farrand was transferred t0 Brooklyn Prep, and went on to teach at other schools in NY, France and Puerto Rico. His last assignment was at Loyola School in NY 1976-1997. He died in 2003. Named in a lawsuit filed in 7/2020.
