Fay took “health leave for a heart condition” in 1988 but worked as a real estate agent. A woman filed suit in 12/02 alleging that he abused her as a teen in the 1970s. Said he provided her and others with alcohol and marijuana. Settled in 2003. Per files released in 2/03, the church knew in 1980 that Fay had been arrested in NH for “drunkenness and use of narcotics” and there were other allegations of misbehavior with youths. Involuntary laicization announced 2/12/05.
