Fr. Jose S. Ferreira
Ordained for the Diocese of Vila Real, Portugal. Arrived in the Archdiocese of Boston in 1974. Assigned to parishes in Peabody, Cambridge, and Lawrence. Retired in 2007 to Danvers, MA. DIed in 2015. Accused in a lawsuit settled in 2025 of sexually abusing a boy, ages 11-14, multiple times during 1985-1988 at St. Anthony’s in Cambridge, where Ferreira was assigned. The abuse allegedly occurred in Ferreira’s rectory office and the church basement.
