Monsignor. In 1/05 A 27-year-old man filed suit alleging Fichtner abused him at age 9 at St. Joseph’s school in Holbrook. Fichtner was assigned to St. Joseph’s 1981-90. He retired in 2002. Placed on leave in 2003 when the allegations were made. In 6/05 the Archdiocese lifted all restrictions after its Review Board could not verify the allegation. Prior to retirement, Fichtner was a member of the College of Consultors for the Archdiocese. He died 6/7/13. Accused in a 3/22 lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy, ages 6-12, 1982-89, at St. Joseph’s. The abuse allegedly occurred during confession and in other places at the parish school. The lawsuit also alleged abuse, including rape, by Rev. Anthony Rebeiro also at St. Joseph’s. His status on the Archdiocese’s list in 8/22 remains unsubstantiated.
