Monsignor. In 1/05 A 27-year-old man filed suit alleging Fichtner abused him at age 9 at St. Joseph’s school in Holbrook. Fichtner was assigned to St. Joseph’s 1981-90. He retired in 2002. Placed on leave in 2003 when the allegations were made. In 6/05 the Archdiocese lifted all restrictions after the review board could not verify the allegation. Retired in 2002. Prior to retirement, Fichtner was a member of the College of Consultors for the Archdiocese. He died 6/7/13. Accused in a 3/22 lawsuit of sexually abusing a boy, ages 6-12, 1982-89, at St. Joseph’s. The abuse allegedly occurred during confession and in other places at the parish school. The lawsuit also alleged abuse, including rape, by Rev. Anthony Rebeiro also at St. Joseph’s.
