Fr. Alfred J. Fitzgerald
Known to have worked at Bishop DuBourg High School in St. Louis in 1977. In 1996 a woman alleged sexual abuse by Fitzgerald when she was a high school student in the early 1970s and went to him for counseling. She received a $25K settlement and a written apology from him. He was placed on medical leave. The Archdiocese wanted to return him to ministry in 1999, but the woman protested and they did not. In 2005 he was living at Regina Cleri Retirement Home in Missouri. Included on the Archdiocese’s 7/26/2019 list of those against whom there are substantiated allegations.
