Fr. Mark Francis Ford
Ford started his priesthood in a Dallas TX parish. In 1994 he transferred to Arizona to work with indigenous people on reservations. He reportedly spent time at the Servants of the Paraclete in NM for treatment of an addiction to spending money and was later assigned to parishes in New Orleans. Ford left the priesthood to work for the Louisiana state government. In 2006 he was assistant director of disability affairs and in 2008 he became director of the state’s office of Indian affairs. He was reportedly laicized in 2007, at his request. In 9/2025 Ford was arrested in Indiana and charged with raping and kidnapping a boy in New Orleans, beginning when the boy was age 10 in 2004 and continuing until 2022 or 2023. The alleged victim has physical disabilities and autism, and was in a program for children with disabilities run by Ford.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
