Fr. Roger E. Fournier

Ordained: 1970
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Manchester NH

Per his personnel file released in 3/2003, Fournier and Fr. Roland Veillette were accused of sexually abusing an altar boy in 1973, while assigned to St. John the Baptist Parish. An investigator interviewed the alleged victim in 2/2002, who said that both priests reportedly had befriended the victim and his brother after the death of their father. The Official Catholic Directory shows that Fournier was Absent on Sick Leave 1989-1994, after which he is no longer indexed.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
