Fr. Arthur P. Craig
Army chaplain 1955-1985, prison chaplain in retirement. Accused in a lawsuit filed against the Oblates of Mary Immaculate Easter Province in 12/2022 of sexually abusing a girl, ages 4-8, at a Bar Harbor seminary and Bucksport retreat house. The plaintiff claims that she lived in a Massachusetts orphanage affiliated with the Order and was brought to Maine, where she was abused by Craig and other priests. Craig died 1/7/2025 in Phoenix AZ, at age 96. Also in 1/2025 a judge dismissed the case, ruling in favor of the defendants.
