Fr. Richard C. Ratajczak
Named publicly as accused in the MI Attorney General’s 6/25/2026 Diocese of Saginaw Report. In
5/2024 the Diocese received an allegation that Ratajczak sexually abused an altar boy multiple times 1985-1986, at St. Hedwig’s in Bay City. Ratajczak allegedly made the boy drink wine with him before mass, then would fondle the boy and make the boy fondle him while they were changing into their robes for mass. The Diocesan Review Board determined that there was insufficient information to determine the credibility of the allegations.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
