Fr. William Ambrose Griffin

Named publicly as accused by the Order of St. Augustine’s Midwest Province on its list updated in 5/2024. The list notes that Griffin was dismissed from the order in 1978 and died in 2017. The Official Catholic Directory shows that Griffin was a faculty member 1964-1971 at Mendel Catholic High School (for boys) in Chicago, then was assigned to St. Mary Parish in Rockford IL until 1974. Per his obituary, Griffin moved to Canada in 1974. After his dismissal he went on to marry and raise a family.
