Fr. William R. Taylor
Ordained in 1967 for the Diocese of Saginaw. Retired in 2007. Died 7/13/2020. Named publicly as accused in the MI Attorney General’s 6/25/2026 Diocese of Saginaw Report. Per the report, in 2021 a man alleged that Taylor sexually abused him when he was a 13-year-old altar boy in 1965, at St. Mary’s in Saginaw. The man said that Taylor took him into a storage room at the church, showed him how to masturbate, then made the boy do it while he watched and rubbed his own genital area outside his clothing. Taylor’s accuser said he remembered it happening three times and that it may also have happened to a few other boys. The Diocesan Review Board determined that there was insufficient evidence to deem the allegations credible.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
