Fr. Frederick George
Named publicly as accused by the Richmond diocese on its list 2/13/2019. Allegation in 1987 that George sexually abused a boy in the late 1970s at a Richmond parish. Briefly reassigned by the bishop, left ministry for a few years in 1988. Worked in the Diocese of Savannah 1990-1991, then returned to Belmont Abbey in NC. Worked as a hospital chaplain 1992-1994, then as chaplain at Belmont Abbey College 1994-1997. Left the priesthood in 1998. Reportedly “permanently dismissed from ministry” in 2004. Included in 12/2019 on the Diocese of Charlotte’s list of credibly accused. Included in the 3/24/2023 GA PAC Report.
