Fr. Joseph Cecil Gill
May have arrived in the archdiocese in 1945 from Ireland. (He is first listed in the 1945 Official Catholic Directory, with the notation “now in Ireland.”) Had parish assignments beginning in 1945 in Birmingham, Warrington FL, Mobile, Grove Hill, Dothan, Bessemer, Guntersville, Chickasaw, Whistler. Named publicly as accused on the archdiocese’s list 12/6/2018 for ‘misconduct’ in the late 1960s. Gill died in 1996.
