Gillespie was pastor of St. Theresa of Lisieux in North Reading MA when placed on administrative leave in 2/15, after the archdiocese received an allegation that he sexually abused a minor in the late 1970s. The archdiocese notified law enforcement and launched its own investigation. Status in 5/16 is ‘Administrative Leave, Case in Process.’ In 2022 his status is ‘Found unsubstantiated; Restricted; Senior priest.’
