Fr. Thomas J. Graham

Parish priest until assigned in 1995 as chaplain to a nursing home. Investigated by the Archdiocese in 1994 for allegations of sexually abusing a boy in the 1970s; the allegations were not substantiated. Convicted in 2005 of orally sodomizing the same boy in the 1970s. Sentenced to 20 years in prison. The Archdiocese posted bond while the case was being appealed. The MO Supreme Court overturned the conviction and prison sentence in 11/2006, saying sodomy had a 3-year statute of limitation. A new lawsuit was filed 3/2011 by a man who alleged abuse as a child twice in 1966. Another sued in 5/2012, claiming abuse in 1966. The civil suit went to trial in 3/2013. In 4/2016 another lawsuit was filed claiming child sex abuse in the 1980s at a Wildwood parish. Graham was on permanent administrative leave. Included on the Archdiocese’s list of credibly accused 7/26/2019. Died 9/2/2019.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
