Deacon Carlos Guzman
Deacon. Suspended 10/20/81 after an abuse allegation involving touching and kissing an 8-year-old boy. Convicted; in 1993 served 8 months of a 9 month sentence. Accused in a 2004 civil suit of abuse in the 1970s-early 1980s of at least two boys. One said he told a priest in 1996 that Guzman raped him in 1978, and the priest responded, “Don’t worry….they moved him somewhere else.” On the diocese’s list 2/13/19.
