Reportedly in 1993, Harsham had oral sex with two high school students in the 1970s. He was accused of sexually abusing several boys and to have plied boys with alcohol, marijuana and pornography. A civil suit named Harsham and Cardinal Joseph Bernardin as abusers. The case was withdrawn but the plaintiff settled claims against Harsham in 1994. Harsham was placed on administrative leave in 1994 and resigned from active ministry a few months later. He maintained administrative leave status until his laicization in 2006. Included in 2006 on the Archdiocese’s list of credibly accused.
