The KC-St. Joseph diocese announced on 7/31/2020 that it had received a credible allegation of the sexual abuse of a minor against Hartway. The Order announced the allegation the previous day. The abuse occurred when Hartway was assigned to St. James in Liberty, MO. Hartway was pastor of a Mead, CO parish when removed 11/27/2019, due to the allegation. Included on the Diocese’s list of those with substantiated allegations. Permanently removed from ministry. Died in 7/2022.
