Retired in 1999. Placed on leave in 8/02 when allegations arose that he abused two brothers in the early 1960s. In 2003 Heaney, a former senior chaplain for the San Francisco Police Department, was charged with molesting one of the brothers; charges dropped 7/03 after Supreme Court ruling that statute of limitations was unconstitutional. Died 1/29/10.
