Fr. John G. Hemstreet
Left active ministry in 1987. Arrested in 1992 for sexually abusing a 10-year-old boy. The Diocese paid for Hemstreet’s treatment at St. Luke Institute. Pleaded guilty. Sentenced to 90 days in jail in 1993. Per the Diocese, Hemstreet left ministry without requesting laicization. Absent on leave per the 1988, 1990 and 1995 Catholic Directories. Died in 2007. Included on the Diocese’s list.
