Personnel file released in 1/2003 contained allegations that Hightower was accused of repeatedly sexually abusing at least two minors at Nazareth, a children’s home in Jamaica Plain, while a lay volunteer there in the early 1960s. Hightower was a student at Cardinal O’Connell Seminary 1965-1968. He was not ordained. After seminary he became a Boy Scout leader, but was reportedly dismissed after assaulting a Scout. He married and raised a family. Hightower died in 1994 at age 47. Five claims settled as of 5/2010. Omitted from the Boston archdiocese’s 2011 database.
