Complaint to archdiocese in 2017 that, when he was pastor of St. Kieran in Utica in the mid-1980s, Kalina plied a 12-year-old boy with alcohol, cocaine and marijuana and fondled him during sleepovers in the rectory. Convicted in 1985 on drug offenses, sentenced in 1986 to 6 months jail and 2 years probation. Moved to CA in 1986. Left active ministry in 1993. Ran “a faith-based service program for at-risk young men” and referring to himself as “Fr. Neil.” Investigated 2018 by the MI A.G. Arrested in 5/18 in Littlerock CA, charged with criminal sexual conduct. To be arraigned 2/10/20 on two charges related to alleged incidents involving a teenager in 1984. On Detroit archdiocese’s list 6/10/19. To face trial, due in court 1/18/22.
