Fr. Dennis A. Keefe
Personnel file released in 12/2002. Accused in 1995 of a sexual attack on a 15-year-old altar boy. He maintained his innocence and refused for three years to undergo psychological assessment. Removed from his parish assignment in 1995 for “health reasons.” Several efforts were made by archdiocesan staff to have Keefe returned to active ministry. Left the priesthood in 1999. Voluntary laicization in 2009 announced 8/20/2010. Boston archdiocese list in 8/11 notes that the case concluded canonically.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
