Placed on leave 2/2004 after archdiocese investigated allegations that he sexually abused a minor boy about 30 years prior. Matter reported to civil authorities in 2003. Review committee found the allegations “substantive.” Had gone on leave of absence in 1973 and sabbatical in 1992. Army National Guard chaplain for 12 years; spent 8 months overseas during Persian Gulf War in 1991. Sued 5/2004 by man who alleged abuse in third grade. Permanently removed from public ministry in 2005. Included on the archdiocese’s list 6/10/2019. Died 1/3/2021.
