Fr. Robert Paul Klein
Accused in a 12/2003 civil suit of abusing a youth at Sacred Heart Parish in Bellevue in 1964, three years after Klein was told to investigate allegations against Rev. Earl Bierman. Klein told Bishop Ackerman; nothing else done. Included on the diocese’s list 7/31/2020 of those with substantiated allegation(s) of abuse. Klein retired in 1992. “Charter Suspension” 9/9/2002. Died 6/20/2005. Included on the Lexington diocese’s list in 8/2020. It notes the 1964 allegation, deemed credible, and that there is evidence that Klein admitted to the abuse. Also, a lawsuit by a different victim in Boone County settled.
