Assigned to Baltimore parishes 1933-1943. Became priest of Washington DC archdiocese when it was established in the 1940s. Had been with the Sulpician Order 1931-1932. First named publicly as accused on the Archdiocese of Washington DC’s list 10/15/2018. Archdiocese first received report of abuse in 1953. Suspended in 1953 and 1954. Returned to ministry after evaluation. Permanently removed from parish ministry in 1958. Per Washington DC archdiocesan documents, Lannon had a history of “sexual impropriety” with teenage boys. He died in 1984. Name included on the Baltimore Archdiocese’s list 4/24/2019. It notes a woman alleged in 2002 abuse by Lannon in the mid-1930s, when she was age 9 or 10 and a St. Rose of Lima School student. She said he also abused another student. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
