Fr. Regis F. Larkin
Worked in archdiocesan parishes 1945-1980. Died 6/23/1981. First named publicly as accused by the Baltimore archdiocese on its list 4/16/2019. The Archdiocese received an allegation in 1992 of abuse by Larkin of a boy, ages 12-15, 1978-1981 when Larkin was pastor at St. Patrick’s in Cumberland. The accuser said that Larkin constantly had children stay with him at the rectory and would take groups of boys on trips. Another allegation was received in 2002 of abuse of a 5th grade boy 1955-1956, at Larkin’s first assignment, St. Michael’s in Frostburg. In 8/2019 a man reported abuse by Larkin as a middle school student in the late 1950s-early 1960s. He said Larkin also abused his brother. Another man told the Archdiocese in 1/2021 that he had been “inappropriately touched” by Larkin. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s Report.
