Fr. Korey Lavergne
Pastor of St. Edward’s in Richard LA when arrested in 1/2026 on charges of indecent behavior with a juvenile. The alleged abuse occurred multiple times during the the previous year. A report was made to law enforcement 12/2/2025, and Lavergne’s accuser and his mother met with Bishop Deshotel. Lavergne was not removed from ministry during the six-week criminal investigation. The boy’s mother stated that she believes Lavergne’s behavior toward her son was grooming.
