Fr. Raymond O. Leneweaver
Parish priest; teacher at Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield and Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia. Accused of the sexual abuse of at least 12 boys 1966-1980. Transferred several times after the Archdiocese learned of allegations. Left active ministry in 1980. Taught in public schools. Requested reactivation in the late 1990s. Msgr. Lynn denied his request in 1998. Laicized 3/21/2005. Included on the Archdiocese’s 1994 secret list memo. Leneweaver admitted to sexually abusing young boys. He died 6/27/2015. Accused in a 2022 lawsuit of sexually abusing an 11-year-old boy in 2003-2004 at a middle school where he was a teacher. His victim said that Leneweaver followed him into a bathroom then abused him. The lawsuit settled.
