Fr. Frank M. Lenz

Ordained: 1969
Status: Accused

Diocese: Diocese of Marquette MI

Retired in 2007. Placed on administrative leave 4/2/2018 after the Diocese received an allegation it deemed credible against him of sexual misconduct with a girl in the 1970s. Lenz denied the allegations. On the Diocese’s list 12/13/2018. In 10/2020 the Diocese announced that the Vatican was unable to establish Lenz’s guilt or innocence. Lenz was returned to ministry under restrictions. Included in the MI Attorney General’s 10/2022 report, which notes that Lenz’s accuser said the abuse occurred when she was in grades 3-5, during visits to a horse farm. She said her friends were similarly abused. No criminal prosecution due to the statute of limitations.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
