Fr. Samuel J. Lupico
Ordained for the Diocese of Trenton. Transferred in 1972 to the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The archdiocese announced on 1/30/2022 that Lupico had been suspended pending the investigation into allegations that he had sexually abused a minor in the mid-1970s, while assigned to St. Ann’s in Baltimore. At the time of his suspension Lupico was assisting at St. Mary of the Assumption in Baltimore and St. Pius X in Towson. He denied the allegations. Included in the 4/5/2023 MD Attorney General’s report, his name redacted. Referred to as #152. It notes that in 2014 a man reported that in the 1980s, when he was living with Lupico in a rectory as his foster son, the priest gave him alcohol and made sexual advances toward him, and that he molested other boys. Lupico acknowledged that two teenagers lived with him for a few months. In 2021 an allegation surfaced that Lupico groped a 12- or 13-year-old boy in the mid-1970s.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
