First named publicly as accused in the 8/14/2018 PA Grand Jury Report. Included on the diocese’s list of credibly accused. Report to the diocese in 2004 that Maloney sexually abused a boy in the early 1970s. The alleged victim had a newspaper route as an 8th grader which included delivering to St. Philip’s rectory. He said Maloney would have him come into the rectory and photograph him in his underwear. Maloney was placed on leave in 1/2004 and his faculties were removed in 9/2004. He died in 2007. Maloney’s accuser also alleged that he was abused in 1973 by Rev. Dom McGee.
