Fr. Alan J. Martineau
Assigned after ordination to St. Anne’s in Shrewsbury, then as administrator of St. Paul and St. Stanislaus parishes in Warren. Placed on leave in 1/2022 due to an allegation of the recent sexual abuse of a minor. Deemed credible in 12/2022. Criminally charged in 2/2023 with three counts of indecent assault. Martineau was reportedly placed on probation for one year in 9/2025 in a deal whereby he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault and battery, and the charges of indecent assault and battery on a person age 14 or older were dropped. The Diocese said Martineau no longer had priestly faculties and was not permitted to act as a priest.

Our Database of Publicly Accused does not state or imply that individuals facing allegations are guilty of a crime or liable for civil claims. The reports contained in the database are merely allegations. The U.S. legal system presumes that a person accused of or charged with a crime is innocent until proven guilty. Similarly, individuals who may be defendants in civil actions are presumed not to be liable for such claims unless a plaintiff proves otherwise. Admissions of guilt or liability are not typically a part of civil or private settlements. For more information, see our posting policy.
