Fr. Edward L. Maurer
Maurer was one of several priests removed from ministry in 6/02. Police notified. In 10/02 Maurer and 11 other priests and 1 brother were named as abusers in a civil suit filed by 43 men and women. Per suit, Maurer abused a boy who was allegedly also a victim of James Collins. Named as abuser of 2 boys in a massive 10/03 lawsuit involving 24 priests. On diocese’s list in 2/19. Noted to have been permanently removed 7/22/02. Died 8/20/16.
