A woman complained in 1993 about abuse by McDonald when she was 14. In 1994 a woman said she was abused by McDonald when she was age 10. He was removed from active ministry in 1994. Personnel file released in 2/03 contained allegations that he had abused several girls. He admitted abuse of 4-5 girls. Another woman complained in 1996 about abuse 1965-66; in 1997 McDonald wrote a letter of apology. The archdiocese did not give it to the woman until 2003. She settled for $35K. McDonald retired in 1996 and died in 1999; Cardinal Law officiated at his funeral. Name included on the 8/11 Boston archdiocese list of accused priests.
