Sexually abused at least nine boys. Admitted to a journalist in 3/02 that he “made a mistake” by inappropriately touching young boys over ten years prior. Twenty years prior he reportedly told his supervising priest he was inappropriate with a teen, but nothing done. Abused a boy in 1987. The boy died and McKeon presided at the funeral, then went on to abuse the victim’s brother. The family later found out and went to Msgr. Placa. Sent to treatment in Canada in 1998 after more allegations. Reassigned. In 2001 the family of the deceased boy saw McKeon marching in parade as police chaplain. Removed from active ministry in 2001. Known to have problems with alcohol. Laicized in 2003. Died suddenly in 4/09 in FL. Identified as Priest C in 2003 Grand Jury report. On diocese’s list in 3/21.
