Ordained a permanent deacon in 1999. Placed on leave 2/23/2007 from his assignment at Blessed Sacrament in Fort Mitchell after an allegation of abuse of a public school student thirty years prior. Included on the diocese’s  7/2020 list of those with substantiated allegations. It notes that Meyer worked 1977-1979 at Third District Elementary School in Covington.
