Fr. George J. Michell
Placed on leave in 2003 after recent revelation of of “inappropriate conduct” in the early 1980s. Michell denied the accusation. Reinstated. Retired as pastor of St. Patrick’s in Southold in 6/10. As of 2012, he is shown as Pastor Emeritus and is still presiding at funerals and other events. Included on the diocese’s list of accused in 3/21, noting abuse allegedly occurring at St. Patrick’s in Smithtown, where he was assigned 1979-85, among other places. Died 8/18/19.
